As iPhone Sales Weaken, Apple May Throw A Curve

CUPERTINO (CBS SF) -- A curve may be the straightest line to remaining on the cutting edge for Apple.

With waning iPhone sales, the Cupertino-based tech giant is testing more than 10 prototypes for its new iPhone and some of them have curved screens, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The new technology is based on an OLED display and boasts deeper blacks, higher resolution and a longer battery life. Apple would rely on Samsung to supply most the screens.

Curved screen rumors have been swirling for weeks now as Apple approaches the 10th anniversary of its iconic device.

In October, the Nikkei Asian Review reported the curved iPhone 8 will have measure 5.5 inches, feature a glass back and metal frame and have wireless charging capabilities.
