SACRAMENTO (KPIX) — Magic mushrooms could be legalized in California as early as 2018.

A ballot measure was filed at the Attorney General’s office Friday.

The initiative would put the legal age of use of the psychedelic psilocybin mushrooms at 21.

When eaten, “shrooms” have hallucinogenic properties, much like LSD.

Now it needs more than 365,000 signatures to get on the 2018 ballot.

If passed, adults could legally use, possess, sell, transport and cultivate psilocybin mushrooms.
