BART Board Will Urge Alameda DA To Drop $70,000 Fine Against Black Friday Protesters

An overflow crowd of protesters showed up to BART’s board of directors meeting on Thursday evening to demanding an end to the prosecution of the 14 Black Friday protesters who temporarily shut down the transit service in West Oakland and may have to pay $70,000 in restitution.

Bay Area Rapid Transit’s media-management policies are in the spotlight again following a report in the Bay Citizen that the agency tried to recruit loyal riders and give them a script to read at a press conference ahead of a planned protest on August 11th.

Group Organizing BART Protests Vows To Continue Fight

The group Anonymous said they already plan to hold another protest next Monday and will continue to do so until they “get what they want.”
