East Palo Alto Beefs Up Police Patrols To Enforce Curfew

The streets of East Palo Alto were a little quieter Thursday night; police officers were enforcing a long-standing curfew that prohibits anyone under the age of 18 from being in a public space between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. It’s been on the books since 1995, but hasn’t been strictly enforced because of limited police resources.

27 Arrests Made In East Palo Alto Crime Crackdown

One week after East Palo Alto police Chief Ron Davis responded to a spike in gun violence by declaring a crime emergency in the city, patrol units have made 27 arrests in a crackdown focused on the Norteno street gang, officials announced Saturday.

East Palo Alto Police Chief Declaring ‘Crime Emergency’

Following the recent violence in East Palo Alto, culminating in Sunday’s killing of a teenager, police Chief Ronald Davis is calling a “crime emergency” for the department, which will take effect on Tuesday.
