Alameda County fire crews were fighting a vegetation fire near Lake Chabot Regional Park that was burning up a ridge toward homes. Meanwhile, firefighters in Santa Clara County were battling another fire that destroyed a house near the Uvas Reservoir before spreading to nearby vegetation.
More than 30,000 pounds of Rainbow Trout were released in 16 of the Bay Area’s regional lakes Tuesday as part of the California Department of Fish and Game’s plan to “super stock” the lakes for anglers.
