Daily Madden: Training Camp Marks A Fresh Start

“You can’t start where you ended up last year,” Madden said. “It’s a new year. It’s a new team. It’s a new start.” Harbaugh told reporters the off-season is ‘like being in the comfort of the womb,’ and that the opening of training camp is like being born again.

New York Jets coach Rex Ryan ordered players to run sprints following a 20-player brawl at training camp this week. “It’s stupid,” John Madden told the KCBS morning crew. “They don’t even know what you do in a football training camp fight.”

Daily Madden: Doughnuts In The Bullpen

The Oakland A’s edged the Tampa Bay Rays 4-3 in 15 innings over five hours Monday night. Oakland reliever Jerry Blevins said the team shared a box of donuts from a fan just before the game-ending rally. John Madden told the KCBS morning crew he wasn’t surprised the donuts came from the bullpen.
