Elderly Man Beaten With Own Cane A Block Away From Tenderloin Police Station In Broad Daylight; Suspects Get Away
A 78-year-old man was beaten with his own cane and pepper sprayed in San Francisco’s Tenderloin in broad daylight on Tuesday. The robbery incident happened only a block away from the police station and the suspects got away.
A bomb squad was dispatched to the San Francisco Police Department’s Mission Station Thursday afternoon to examine a suspicious object that was dropped off by a resident, police said.
San Francisco Police Chief Greg Suhr said that he endorses the idea of a Sixth Street police substation. The station would target the Sixth Street Corridor, where crime, drugs, and violence are daily occurrences.
