A team of former chefs out of San Francisco restaurants opened this Woodside fine dining establishment. They have partnered up with local Santa Cruz Mountains SMIP Ranch, which provides heirloom organic produce to the restaurant. This classy, upscale spot serves up Mediterranean cuisine with a French flair and is best for families with older or best-behaved kids. On Mother's Day, there will be a special four-course prix fixe menu for $55 per person, drinks not included. Filoli is an original country estate dating from the early 1900s and is now part of the National Trust for Historical Preservation. The estate includes gardens, a house, a museum and a nature preserve. Mother's Day weekend coincides with Filoli's 25th Annual Flower Show, and the estate will be holding a number of events perfect for sharing with mom. The Cantor Arts Center at Stanford University is holding weekly free Family Sunday events through March of 2016. Bring mom along on Mother's Day to experience one of these events, and the whole family can enjoy a gallery tour and make and take home art projects. The Arts Center will be conducting special programs each Family Sunday, which may include movie screenings and book readings. After visiting the center, make sure to take mom on a stroll through the adjacent Rodin Sculpture Garden.
