Six Steps That’s all it takes to achieve the most coveted look on the runway, the club, or on opening night – anytime you need drama… smoky eyes have it.
What You Need:
Primer, 2 Eyeshadows - one light, one dark, Eyeliner, Makeup brushes/Q-tips, Mascara and an Eyelash curler if necessary
Step 1: Primer
To keep your eye shadow from going in the crease of your lid as the evening wears on, swipe on primer and let it dry before proceeding. It will keep your shadow in place.
Step 2: Eyeliner
Apply black, brown or grey liner above the upper lash line.
Step 3: Rim Bottom Lashes
The key to a smoky eye is bringing your entire eye into focus. An eyeliner pencil will give you the best smudge. Line the bottom lash line and use yor finger to smudge the line. Add a bit of shadow for emphasis.
Step 4: Highlight
Take a light eyeshadow and apply the eyeshadow on the inner corner of the eye until about three thirds into the lid.
Step 5: Add Smoke
Take the darker eyeshadow and blend it from the outer corner of the eye about midway across the lid, taking care not to go above the crease of the eye. Use a brush to blend the two colors until you achieve the degree of smoke you desire
Step 6: Finesse
Stand back and make sure each eye is the same. Use a Q-Tip if necessary to make minor adjustments. Then, top it all off with several coats of mascara. (Use an eyelash curler if necessary.) Be sure to let each coat dry before adding the next. Voila… smoky eyes.
