THE DEFENSE
Q: How long have you owned your vehicle?
A: For about—let's see—about a year, year and a half maybe.
Q: What neighborhood do you live in?
A: I live in Mission District, like Outer Mission by Popeye's, 94112.
Q: So how old are you?
A: Nineteen, right now.
Q: What's your car's main use?
A: Just the daily driver, you know. Like sometimes if my mom needs to use it, you know, they can all access it. It's a family car.
Q: Where did you get your car?
A: We had to go all the way to like, Lafayette from a private owner.
Q: Was it a good experience?
A: It was a pretty good experience. You know, just haggling was a little bit difficult, especially with these kinds of cars.
Q: What's your favorite day trip from home?
A: Actually, I don't know. I just love every trip that I drive with this car.
Q: Where's the furthest place you've driven with your car?
A: I got a say, like Hayward probably. Because I haven't really like, I kind of try to baby it a little.
Q: Have you ever driven it anywhere crazy?
A: Yeah, definitely with my cousin. I don't know if anyone is going to get me for this, but I actually hit 120 one time on the freeway. It's a lot of happiness. It drives you and wants to go faster and faster. I mean obviously, I got to respect the rules of the road, but sometimes I just want to be young, you know.
Q: Do you have any rules in your car?
A: Not necessarily 'cause I mean I just try to keep the interior and exterior clean. Try not to make any mess.
Q: What do you listen to in your car? Music, news, radio?
A: Definitely music, yeah. I have an iPod inside. You know, sometimes you just want to turn off the music and listen to the engine instead.
Q: Do you ever rock out or sing along to songs?
A: Sometimes, occasionally.
Q: If your car had a theme song, what would it be?
A: "Party Rock" by LMFAO.
Q: If your car had a human emotion, what would it be and why?
A: Slick and sexy, I guess. It can be casual. It can be a racing car.
Q: How many miles do you think are left in the life of your car?
A: I can't really say, but as much as I can push it. I think it will last as long as I can keep up with the maintenance. It's a little expensive.
Q: Have you had any major repairs on it lately?
A: Not necessarily, 'cause I haven't had it for too long, but someone did T-bone the car. That kind of transformed everything. It just started from there, kickstart, 'cause I said that I would not like do any mods whatsoever, no visuals or anything. But after that car crash, I just see so much potential in it. Might as well go all out, right?
Q: What do you think your next car will realistically be?
A: I'm not really thinking about another car at the moment, you know. Just a college student. Can't really afford it. But if I really can, my dream car would always be an M3.
Q: Why a BMW M3?
A: After my friend told me about the M3, I just started looking into it. It's what started my love for BMW right there. It just sparked up from there. I mean, I was going to get an M3, but you know I can't expect too much, so 330. No less!
Q: Is there anything else we should know about your car?
A: You might just see me around!
