Passengers in CA Bus Crash Sue Greyhound

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) _ Six people injured in a deadly crash in Central California last week are suing Greyhound Lines Inc.

The horrifying wreck killed six and injured nearly two dozen others when the bus slammed into an overturned SUV early Thursday morning on a busy state highway in Fresno.

The suit filed Wednesday in Sacramento County Superior Court alleges the bus driver did not fulfill his duty to transport the passengers safely. It said the company should pay damages to those injured or killed in the crash or their relatives.

The crash remains under investigation.

CHP investigators said earlier this week that the driver of the SUV was legally drunk at the time of the crash.

Plaintiffs' attorneys said their clients have suffered orthopedic and head injuries, and two young children on the bus are experiencing severe emotional distress.

The company did not immediately provide comment.
