Suspect, Daughter Sought After Vallejo Woman's Murder

VALLEJO (BCN) - Vallejo police were looking for a suspect in the fatal shooting of a young woman in a Ninth Street home Wednesday night and were concerned for the safety of the man's 4-year-old daughter, who is believed to be with him.

Ashley Manigault, 22, was found dead of a gunshot wound around 10:50 p.m., Lt. Ken Weaver said.

Occupants of the home have been questioned but police identified 28-year-old Jonas Peacock as a suspect, Weaver said.

Peacock fled the residence with his 4-year-old daughter, Nyary Peacock, and police are concerned about the girl's safety, Weaver said.

Peacock is black, 6 feet 4 inches tall, weighs approximately 260 pounds and is armed with a handgun, Weaver said.

Nyary Peacock is 3 feet tall and weighs about 50 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call detective Mat Mustard or detective Ted Postolaki at (800) 488-9383.

The shooting is the city's 14th homicide this year.
