Fairfield Councilman's Killer Gets 15-Years To Life

FAIRFIELD (CBS) - The second man convicted of killing a Fairfield city councilman two years ago has been sentenced to prison.

Gene Allen Combs was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison today. He was found guilty in June of second-degree murder for the 2008 shooting of Matt Garcia. Another man, Henry Don Williams was found guilty of first-degree murder and has been sentenced to 50 years to life in prison.

Prosecutors say Williams mistook Garcia for a drug dealer who owed him money, but Williams maintains that Combs was the man who pulled the trigger.

Garcia was just 22-years-old when he was killed.
