'Bachelorette' Contestant Found Dead

SAN DIEGO (ET/CBS) - A former "Bachelorette" contender was reportedly found dead off a California highway on Wednesday.

Julien Hug vied for the heart of Jillian Harris on the hit ABC show. According to KGTV San Diego, Hug's body was found in a remote area off Highway 74. His father and restaurateur, Bertrand Hug, said his son was on his way to help manage the family's Palm Desert restaurant.

According to the news outlet, it is unknown as to when Julien passed away, but his father told authorities that his son's phone went dead two days ago while he was driving on the highway.

Former "Bachelorette" Jillian tweeted following the breaking news, writing: "Please say a prayer for the loss of a friend this morning. Life is fragile, don't forget to love the ones you love."

The host of the hit ABC show Chris Harrison also tweeted: "Very sorry to hear we lost one of our own today. I know Julien was very well liked on his season of Bette. Thoughts & prayers."
