(KCBS) – Amazon’s newest edition of the Kindle e-book reader is less expensive than the original.  KCBS Technology Analyst Larry Magid says the catch is, it has ads.

KCBS Technology Analyst Larry Magid Comments:

This Kindle costs $114 as compared to the original cost of $149. When you turn it on, you will see ads on your homepage, Magid said, but there won’t be ads in the books, for now.

Some people may worry that it could be the beginning of ads in the book, and some people may be offended by the idea of paying for something and still getting ads, Magid said. He added the issue is whether the ads are intrusive.
