Good Questions: Are There Any Octopuses In San Francisco Bay?

(CBS 5) – Before you dip your toes into San Francisco Bay, it's good to know what might be in there with them. Lisa Romero asked this Good Question: Are there any octopuses in San Francisco Bay?

ANSWER: According to Cristina Slager of Aquarium of the Bay, there are octopuses in San Francisco Bay. The Giant Pacific Octopus can be found there although the species prefers deep water so most of them are outside the Golden Gate. Octopuses are extremely intelligent and can be trained to open objects and even negotiate mazes.
