14-Yr-Old Runaway Arrested For Stealing Car From DVC Parking Lot

PLEASANT HILL (CBS SF) - Police in Pleasant Hill arrested a 14-year-old boy who is listed as a runaway in Pleasant Hill Tuesday on suspicion of stealing a car from a Diablo Valley College parking lot, police said.

Campus police received a report of the stolen vehicle around 10:45 a.m. when a friend of the car owner's saw someone else driving the blue Honda Accord on Golf Club Road toward Contra Costa Boulevard.

Officers spotted the car traveling south along Contra Costa Boulevard near Taylor Boulevard and pursued the car through traffic.

The driver fled from police, turning into an apartment complex on Dexter Drive before he exited the car and ran away, police said.

Officers quickly apprehended the suspect and arrested him.

Police believe the teen made his way to the college that morning in another stolen vehicle that he abandoned before stealing the Honda Accord in the college parking lot.
