'Portlandia' Lands In San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS/CNN) - IFC's comedy series "Portlandia" is going all-out promoting its upcoming second season: Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein are taking their show on the road with a stop at Mezzanine in San Francisco December 30.

According to IFC, "Portlandia: The Tour" will bring "the romanticized and dreamy rendering of Portland, Oregon to life for fans across the country." If you're unfamiliar with the show, it's a hilarious series of sketches parodying Portland and its people.

"Saturday Night Live" star Armisen and former Sleater-Kinney guitarist Brownstein poke fun at a wide variety of Northwest stereotypes. Characters run the gamut from hipsters playing hide and seek and organic-obsessed yuppies to bike fanatics and crafters who "put a bird on it."

The mini-tour begins at the end of December, and will bring the dream of the '90s to life with music, clips from season 2 and anecdotes about the creation of the show's zany characters.

The tour will begin on December 27, 2011 in Portland (where else?) and will stop in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Brooklyn and Manhattan.

The new season premieres January 6 at 10/9c. Just in time for Portlandia Day, which was created by the mayor of Portland last year on January 21.
