Organizers Reveal Tony Awards Date

NEW YORK (CBS SF/AP) - Theater buffs, mark your calendars. Award season has not forgot about you. This year's Tony Awards will be held June 10. The American Theatre Wing announced Tuesday both the award-show date and the cutoff for eligibility to receive one of the awards. Productions must open before April 25 to be in the running.

The awards, presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, will be handed out June 10 starting at 8 p.m. Eastern. The telecast will broadcast live on CBS 5 from New York's Beacon Theatre.

Last year's show was its first at the Beacon, a much smaller venue than the Tony Awards' previous home at Radio City Music Hall. There was no announcement on who will be the show's host. Last year, it was Neil Patrick Harris.
