Oakland Woman In Domestic Dipute Jailed After Shooting At Boyfriend

OAKLAND (CBS SF) - A domestic dispute escalated into a shooting in Oakland Wednesday morning and a brief manhunt, according to police.

Officers responded to shots fired on the 500 block of 44th street about 4:30am.

It was the second time in about an hour police had been called to the location. Earlier, a man and a woman were involved in some kind of domestic dispute which also prompted a police call, according to Oakland Police Lt. Brandon Wehrly.

Officer were still in the area an hour later when they heard shots from the same residence, said Wehrly.

The same couple had been apparently fighting again and she allegedly fired 3 shots at her boyfriend, according to police.

The man was not hurt and the woman was arrested.

Officers went on a door-to-door search because they had seen someone running from the scene about the time the shots were fired, said Wehrly.

It turned out the person who ran was related to one of those involved in the dispute and was not a suspect, said Wehrly.

Streets that were closed during the search have since reopened.
