Suspected DUI Street Racers Crash Into Saratoga Home

SARATOGA (CBS SF) - The drivers of two cars that slammed into a Saratoga residence Monday morning have been identified as Alan Chang from Saratoga and George Song from San Jose, a sheriff's spokesman said.

The two 19-year-olds were racing southbound on Stelling Road at 4:30 a.m. when they were unable to make the turn onto Prospect Road. They sideswiped one home and crashed into the living room of an adjacent home, Sgt. Jose Cardoza said.

One of the vehicles, a Toyota Corolla, came to a rest on top of the second vehicle, a BMW.

As they failed to make the turn, the cars hit and dislodged a guardrail and launched a 300-pound boulder 50 feet through the first home's garage door, Cardoza said.

No one in either home was injured.

Investigators determined the vehicles were traveling faster than 80 mph and that alcohol was a factor in the incident, Cardoza said.

The pair was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Upon release, both men were arrested for felony DUI and reckless driving, Cardoza said.

Both residences suffered serious damage and both vehicles were totaled.
