San Francisco Warning System Sounds Accidentally

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- San Francisco emergency officials activated a warning siren Sunday afternoon, triggering some confusion among residents.

The sirens, which sounded around 3:45 p.m., were activated accidentally, and there was no emergency, according to the San Francisco Department of Emergency Management.

The sirens are normally heard only on Tuesdays at noon, when they are tested, or during emergencies.
