2 Boaters Missing After Vessel Capsizes Off San Mateo County Coast

HALF MOON BAY (CBS/AP) -- The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for two fishermen who went missing when a boat capsized off the San Mateo County coast Sunday morning, a spokesman said.

At about 11:30 a.m., the Coast Guard responded to a report of an 18-foot Striper that capsized in the Ocean near Pigeon Point south of Half Moon Bay, Lt. Jared Hood said.

Two men from the fishing boat were able to swim to shore and report the incident to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, Hood said.

The condition of the survivors was not immediately available.

KCBS' Holly Quan Reports:

Search-and-rescue teams from the Coast Guard, the sheriff's office and local agencies responded to the area to assist in the search for the two remaining men, who were still missing as of 2:30 p.m., Hood said.
