Police Release Suspect Sketch In Monte Sereno Home Invasion Homicide

MONTE SERENO (CBS SF) -- Police released a sketch of a suspect in a Monte Sereno homicide that occurred during an apparent home invasion robbery early Friday morning.

Monte Sereno resident Raveesh Kumar Kumra, 66, was killed at his home on the 18000 block of Withey Road, near Beck Avenue, police said Saturday.

Police were alerted to his death around 1:30 a.m. when a woman called to report that a burglar had entered the home and ransacked it. She was able to call when the suspect or suspects left the home.

The woman, reportedly Kumra's wife, was taken to a hospital with injuries not considered to be life threatening.

Police were not releasing further details on how Kumra died to protect the investigation.

Investigators believe there was more than one person inside the home at the time of the incident, but the exact number and their descriptions are not known at this time, police said.

The suspect whose sketch was released Saturday is described as a white or Hispanic male, approximately 23-24 years old, approximately 6 feet tall and skinny. He was described as having black hair, dark eyes and a light complexion.

Anyone with information about the incident was asked to contact the Los Gatos/Monte Sereno Police Department at (408) 827-3219 or after hours at (408) 354-8600.
