NEW ORLEANS (CBS SF) - The aunt and uncle of San Francisco 49ers tight end Delanie Walker were killed early Monday morning by a suspected drunk driver, according to Twitter posts by Walker.

The New Orleans Times-Picayune reported that a Mercedes C230 driving at a high rate of speed on the shoulder of a highway in St. Charles Parish slammed into the back of the couple's Nissan Altima which had stopped on the shoulder, setting fire to both vehicles.

The driver of the Mercedes, 26-year-old Nechole Thomas, escaped her vehicle with minor injuries, State Police told the newspaper.

Thomas was arrested two counts of vehicular homicide, DWI and reckless operation of a vehicle.

The crash came hours after the 49ers lost to the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
