Small Quake Strikes East Of San Jose

SAN JOSE (KPIX 5) – A small earthquake struck the San Jose area Thursday night, but there are no reports of injuries or damage.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the magnitude 3.4 earthquake struck at 10:12 p.m. in the foothills east of San Jose, on the Calaveras Fault.

More than 1,000 reported feeling the quake on the agency's website, with reports mostly in Santa Clara County. Some people felt the earthquake in the Santa Cruz area and the Livermore area.
