Man Beaten With A Rock During Dispute In SF SoMa Neighborhood

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - A 61-year-old man was beaten in the head with a rock in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood Sunday night.

The attack was reported at about 9:10 p.m. near Fifth and Bryant streets.

The victim and another man got into an argument that turned physical, with the suspect punching the victim several times, according to police.

He then picked up a rock and struck the victim with it on the forehead, causing a laceration, police said.

The suspect, described as a man around 40 years old, fled and had not been found as of Monday morning, according to police.

The victim is expected to survive, police said.
