Sandra Bernhard's One Woman Show In San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO - (CBS) Comedienne, actress and singer Sandra Bernhard brings her one-woman show, "I Love Being Me, Don't You?" to San Francisco's Bimbo's 365 Club for one night only. Bernhard sat down with CBS 5's Frank Mallicoat to discuss her show, her career, and her love of the Bay Area.

"I Love Being Me, Don't You?" originally premiered at the Castro Theater, evolving from an entirely improvised performance into a 90-minute post modern musical, complete with a live band. Bernhard describes the show as a "mash-up of cabaret, burlesque; rock and roll meets social commentary."

With a career spanning nearly four decades, Bernhard has been a pioneer more than once. She's worked with director Martin Scorsese, appeared on Late Night With David Letterman over 30 times, acted in numerous films and television shows, released several albums, and played the first gay character on a network sitcom, appearing as "Nancy" on Roseanne.

Bernhard's interview on Bay Sunday airs Sunday, May 19th at 5:30am. Her one woman show, "I Love Being Me, Don't You?" is held Friday, May 17, at 9pm, at Bimbo's 365 Club. Details and ticket information can be found at CBS SF Events Listings.
