Sonoma County Bear Sightings Too Close For Comfort
SEBASTAPOL (KPIX 5) -- For weeks now, folks living near Sebastapol have been seeing an animal that isn't normally seen much in these parts: a big brown bear.
When it comes to wild animals, residents here have seen the gamut – mountain lions rattle snakes, bobcats – but when they see a bear, they get a little scared.
The bears were spotted rummaging through garbage and digging into compost bins. One homeowner discovered some bears had torn off his barn door and killed his goats.
Residents told KPIX 5 that hunting down the bears would truly be a last resort. Right now, they are hoping everybody can all just get along.
