High-Pressure Gas Line Ruptured In Lafayette

LAFAYETTE (CBS SF) - Crews were responding to a high-pressure gas leak in Lafayette, and residents in the area have been advised to stay indoors, police said.

A gas line rupture was reported in the 1300 block of Pleasant Hill Road in Lafayette Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Residents who live in that block, or on Quant Road or Candy Court, were advised to close their windows and doors and extinguish any flames, police said.

One lane of Pleasant Hill Road has been closed as crews respond to the leak, and motorists are advised to expect delays.

Anyone who smells gas in their neighborhood is advised to close all doors and windows and call Lafayette police at (925) 284-5010 or 911.
