Jan Wahl Movie Review: Thanks For Sharing (R)

THANKS FOR SHARING (R)

In the next two weeks we have graphically sexual movies that are mainstream, both dealing with the timely topic of sexual addiction. Let's begin with Thanks for Sharing. From Days of Wine and Roses to Requiem for a Dream to Shame, there are too many movies about addictions to name. But this time it's about men looking for sexual sobriety.

When Michael Douglas told the world a few years ago that he was a sexual addict, many did not know exactly what that was. They will after this movie, and it's an illness we see in many different forms, including a suffering woman, played brilliantly by the singer Pink.

Mark Ruffalo is trying to take it one day at a time, wit help from his recovery sponsor, Tim Robbins, troubled girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow and addicted Josh Gad co-starring.

It's a smart movie, but graphic. Bring your brains to this one and understand what many are going through at this time of sexual isolation and fear of intimacy.

Three hats.
