Japanese Tourists Label Golden Gate Bridge Among 'Most Overrated' U.S. Attractions

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - The skyscraping span that is synonymous with San Francisco has apparently been a real letdown for many visitors from across the Pacific.

The Japanese website My Navi Woman, as translated by Rocket News 24, found that The Golden Gate Bridge was among the most underwhelming destinations in North America.

"I thought it would be more impressive, but it was just an ordinary red bridge," said a 29-year-old woman who responded to the survey.

The survey, titled "The world's most disappointing tourist locations according to Japanese women, North American edition," also listed Waikiki Beach, The Grand Canyon, and Seattle's Space Needles as unimpressive. The top vote getter however, was the Statue of Liberty.

According to Rocket News, 276 women between the ages of 22 and 34 took part in the survey.
