Teacher Accused Of Multiple Molestations At Richmond Elementary School

RICHMOND (CBS SF) -- A teacher was arrested in El Cerrito Wednesday morning for allegedly sexually abusing multiple students at a Richmond elementary school.

Officers arrested 32-year-old Ronald Guinto on a $1.4 million warrant for alleged lewd acts upon a child, forced oral copulation and assault with intent to commit sodomy, according to Richmond police Lt. Andre Hill.

Guinto was taken into custody as he arrived at work at Mira Vista Elementary School in El Cerrito around 7:45 a.m., Hill said.

However, police said his arrest stemmed from allegations that he abused students at his former workplace, Making Waves Academy, a charter school located at 4123 Lakeside Drive in Richmond.

Hill said police received reports last November that Guinto was allegedly sexually abusing at least two students between 11 and 13 years old at the school.

Police launched an investigation and were able to obtain a warrant for his arrest on Tuesday after learning that he was teaching another school in El Cerrito, the lieutenant said.

He was taken to county jail in Martinez where he remains in custody on $1.4 million bail.
