Armed Man Wearing Trash Bag Robs Salinas Jack-In-The-Box

SALINAS (CBS SF) -- A man wearing a trash bag on Thursday robbed cash registers and a patron at a Jack-in-the-Box restaurant at gunpoint in Salinas and then fled on a bicycle down Main Street, police said.

Police were called at 6:41 p.m. Thursday about a robbery by a man armed with a semi-automatic handgun who entered the restaurant at 975 N. Main St., police Cmdr. Michael Groves said.

The suspect, described as a man in his 30s, had disguised himself by donning a trash bag over a long-sleeved shirt, Groves said.

The armed suspect then stuffed stolen cash into a duffle bag, leapt back over the counter and robbed a patron, Groves said.
