2 Homicide Victims Found Inside San Jose Home

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- Two men were found shot and killed in a San Jose townhouse Monday afternoon after neighbors heard gunshots there the night prior.

The bodies were discovered by someone who came to the home in the 1500 block of Marlene Way Monday afternoon and police were called at 3:28 p.m., police Officer Albert Morales said.

The two men knew each other and their bodies were found together but police are still trying to determine their relationship.

While investigators are still trying to determine a motive for the shooting, there is no indication that there is a suspect at large, Morales said.

Neighbors said they heard gunshots on Sunday night but did not report the gunfire to police, believing they might have been fireworks.

Arooj Syed, 43, a resident of the neighborhood, said she heard two sets of shots, one at about 6 p.m. and another between 8 and 9 p.m.

Some neighbors went into the street to discuss what had happened, Syed said, but couldn't tell where they had come from and some people thought the loud noises might have been fireworks.

Police did not confirm what time the two men had been shot.

Officers took pictures of a blue SUV parked across from the townhouse's driveway this afternoon but did not disclose its significance to the investigation.
