20 Passengers Hurt By Severe Turbulence On South African Airways Flight

(KPIX 5) -- Passengers survived severe turbulence on a South African Airways flight from Johannesburg to Hong Kong.

Twenty people were hurt, two of them seriously.

One witness reported a baby had flown out of a bassinet that was caught by her mother.

Twitter user NSK_CPT tweeted a picture of damage left when a passenger hit his head during the South African Airways flight.

In February, a Cathay-Pacific flight from SFO to Hong Kong hit severe turbulence, injuring nine passengers.
