Hillary Clinton Holds Q&A Sessions At Facebook, Twitter

(CBS SF) -- Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton took questions at the Bay Area headquarters of Facebook and Twitter Monday to promote her new memoir.

Clinton's book "Hard Choices," released in June, chronicles the four years she spent as Secretary of State under President Barack Obama.

On her Facebook page, Clinton wrote this morning that she has already arrived at Facebook headquarters in Menlo Park and planned to do an online question-and-answer session.

Hillary talked about Gaza, Guantanamo Bay, and women's contraception, but didn't say anything new about any of the subjects.

When asked if she would allow dogs on the sofa if she wins the White House, Clinton replied, "I love dogs, especially out three. Although it may not be proper dog etiquette, I do let our dogs on the sofa from time to time."

Another user, 'Van Le' asked if Mrs. Clinton was excited to be a grandmother, Hillary wrote, "I am so excited I cannot wait."

Hillary avoided questions about a possible presidential run. She did offer advice to young men and women looking to get into politics or public service.

"If a woman wants to be in the public arena, she needs to grow skin as thick as the hide of a rhinoceros. I have certainly as you can tell had to learn how to do that."

About 500 people tuned in to the live stream at the beginning, but by the end of the chat, only 60 people were watching.

Hillary answered questions from Twitter users using the hashtag #AskHillary and the event was live-streamed from a link on Clinton's Twitter feed @HillaryClinton.
