6 Rescued, Including Infant, Near Benicia After Kayak Overturns During Fishing Trip
BENICIA (KCBS)— Six people, including an infant, were rescued from Southampton Bay near Benicia Sunday night after a kayak overturned during a fishing trip.
The group— from San Jose was out on the Delta on the kayak and a rubber raft.
When the kayak was knocked over by strong winds, someone in the party used their cell phone to call for help.
When Coast Guard crews arrived, they found three people in the water and three others on the raft.
All six were taken ashore by Coast Guard rescuers.
Everyone had been wearing life jackets - and no one was hurt.
