ANTIOCH (CBS SF) — Police arrested 11 people — including a man suspected of shooting a woman in front of her apartment last week — during a crime suppression effort in Antioch on Wednesday night.
The operation happened in different crime-stricken portions of Antioch and Pittsburg from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. with help from the FBI and the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office, police said.READ MORE: Man Approaches, Threatens Teenage Girls in Berkeley; Police Seek Surveillance Footage

Police said one of the 11 people arrested during the operation was Emmitt Tippie, 20, whom investigators believe shot and injured a 29-year old woman in the 1600 block of Sycamore Drive last Thursday.READ MORE: San Mateo County Supervisors Approve New District Maps
Tippie was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and on two outstanding felony warrants.
The remaining 10 suspects were arrested on suspicion of various drug and weapons offenses, according to police.
