Women Reports Sexual Assault Near Stanford Campus

STANFORD (KCBS) -- Stanford University police are investigating a report that a woman was sexually assaulted near the campus Thursday evening.

The victim reported the incident to Stanford police around 6:15 p.m. stating that she had been groped by a man near Stanford Avenue and Raimundo Way.

She described the man as white, in his mid-20s, and about 6-foot-3 with a thin build. He had short hair, a light beard and was wearing a light-blue shirt with blue jeans.The suspect also had a tattoo with unknown writing on his right arm and had been walking a gray pit bull.

He was last seen walking on Stanford Avenue toward Peter Coutts Road.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that Thursday night's incident comes one week after a man was charged with accosting two women in Palo Alto. Last week, 58 year old Ahmad Esfandyarpour, was arrested on suspicion of grabbing the two women and trying to kiss them in July.
