OAKLAND (CBS) — A large pro-Palestinian demonstration in West Oakland Saturday was infiltrated by protesters angry over the police shooting of Michael Brown, an unarmed teen, in Missouri.

Police said a group of people they believe to be anarchists, carrying weapons, merged into the rally and began taunting officers, calling them “pigs” and “murderers.”READ MORE: Woman Found Dead During Visit With Friends at Home in Rohnert Park
Protest organizers and officers tried to keep the demonstrators under control in light of the violence the night before during a march to support the people of Ferguson, the city where Brown was killed. Fortunately, there were no such incidents on Saturday. Most of the demonstrators were gone by 7 p.m.
