SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – In honor of the 44th anniversary of his death Thursday, a likeness of rocker Jimi Hendrix was unveiled for the first time at Madame Tussauds gallery in San Francisco.

Hendrix is widely regarded as one of the most influential electric guitarists of all time. The Seattle native was just 27-years-old when he died in London on this date in 1970.
