SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — Canadian magician Zack Mirza pulled off (literally) the classic, death-defying Houdini upside-down straight jacket escape while dangling from a 100 foot crane over Justin Herman Plaza in San Francisco Friday afternoon.

It’s been almost 100 years since Houdini performed the same stunt while hanging from the Hearst building. Mirza said he performed the trick to pay tribute to his hero.
