CVS To Pay $250K To 4 Norcal Counties After Claims Of Misleading Product Labels

SACRAMENTO (CBS) -- Pharmacy giant CVS has reached a settlement over claims it was using fake size labels for some products.

CVS Health agreed to pay $250,000 to 4 California counties and the state's Department of Agriculture.

This comes after allegations its packaging didn't accurately represent how much product it contained.

The settlement covers a few store-brand beauty products -- mostly wrinkle creams and hair products.

A report by CNN affiliate KFSN said the points of contention were alleged false bottoms and sides that improperly exaggerated the amount of product in the container.

The money go to Fresno, Yolo, Sacramento and Shasta counties.

A CVS spokesman said the company would do better going forward.
