Warriors Sign 20-Year-Old Australian Man With Leukemia To One-Day Contract

OAKLAND (CBS SF) --  The Golden State Warriors will grant a wish to a 20-year-old Australian man with leukemia by signing him to a one-day contract Thursday, team officials said.

Trent Frost of Melbourne dreamed of meeting Warriors center Andrew Bogut and attending an NBA game for the first time and thanks to the Warriors and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, that wish will come true.

Frost will get to sit courtside with his entire family as the team practices before its game against the New Orleans Pelicans and then will have dinner in the BMW Club at the Oracle Arena, according to the Warriors.

Bogut will host Frost and his family, including his 18-year-old sister Laura who gave him a bone marrow donation, throughout the day.

They will get a tour of the Warriors practice facility and locker room, have lunch with Bogut in the Oakland Marriott City Center and receive Warriors gear signed by Bogut, including a jersey and sneakers, team officials said.

Hosting Frost is just one day of the Warriors Wish Week. The team has hosted other people suffering serious illnesses through the Nicolas Colby Fund and the Ronald McDonald House.

In January, star Warriors guard Stephen Curry will host four families with Make-A-Wish.
