Pleasanton Allows Inflatable Frosty The Snowman To Stay For Christmas

PLEASANTON (KPIX 5) -- After Pleasanton officials threatened to fine a Christmas tree lot for hosting a 30-foot-tall inflatable Frosty the Snowman, the city is allowing the snowman to stay for the holidays.

The mayor gave Frosty and Johnny Moore, who owns the Christmas tree lot, a reprieve Friday night.

Earlier this week, a Pleasanton code enforcement officer ticketed Moore and the city threatened to fine him each day until the snowman was gone.

Standing three stories tall, Frosty has been a fixture at Moore's Christmas tree lot for more than two decades.

The snowman received a chilly reception when Moore moved his tree lot from the Alameda County Fairgrounds to a new location this year.
