Bay Area Could Wake Up To Mountaintop Snow Tuesday

KPIX 5 Morning Weather Anchor Roberta Gonzales answers the questions you never get to ask on-air.

Q: Will we see snow in the Bay Area this week?

A: It's possible! A cold, mostly dry storm system is moving towards the Bay Area.

There will be light scattered precipitation over the far East Bay and Southeast Monday night.

With the colder air mass, chances call for brief snow showers in the hills down to 2,000 feet. This includes Mt. Diablo, Mt. Hamilton and possibly Mt. Vaca.

The snow won't stick, but it will remain cold for much of the rest of the week. Storms likely won't return to the region until a week or more into 2015.
