Police Shut Down Illegal Casino Operating Inside A San Jose Home
SAN JOSE (KCBS) — Police said they shut down an illegal casino operating out of a home in San Jose on Tuesday where 15 gambling video machines, drugs and large amount of cash were seized.

Officers discovered the casino at about 4 p.m. after responding to a possible assault between a man a woman at the non-descript home painted brown in the 100 block of South Capitol Avenue, Lt. Mike Sullivan said.
"We saw about two cops and then four and then it just multiplied to up to 12 police cars going on and then it caught our attention that something was going on," Diana Heredia, a neighbor, said.
Heredia said she watched as officers took about 20 people that tried to scatter from the home into custody.
Lt. Mike Sullivan told the Contra Costa Times that eight people were eventually arrested for various charges including narcotics possession and active felony warrants.
No one was arrested in direct connection with the discovery or possession of the machines and police are continuing to investigate the incident.
In November 2013, The FBI, Drug Enforcement Agency and San Jose Police Department broke up a large illegal gambling ring run out of coffee shops.
