29-Year Old Man Killed In Antioch Motorcycle Crash

ANTIOCH (CBS SF) -- The Contra Costa County coroner's office Thursday identified a man who died following a motorcycle collision on Tuesday evening in Antioch as 29-year-old Mark Brandon Jr.

Just before 8 p.m. Tuesday, Antioch police responded to a collision between a motorcycle and car in the area of East 13th and Simmons streets, police said.

Police and fire personnel arrived to find the motorcyclist, later identified as Brandon, with major injuries. They transported the Antioch resident to John Muir Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

According to an official with the coroner's office, Brandon may have also lived in or hailed from Ukiah.

On Wednesday, police said that based off of a preliminary investigation, they will likely not seek charges against the car driver in the case.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call Antioch police at (925) 778-2441.
