SACRAMENTO (CBS SF) — An attempt to hold the world’s biggest Easter Egg Hunt in Sacramento failed to qualify for the Guinness Book of World Records, and was not a hit with everyone.

“There was no organization at all, they all trampled each other, the little 2- and 3-year-olds were crying and crying, the parents were scooping up all the eggs for the older kids, and it was horrible,” said Teresa Moon.

Parents reportedly rushed onto the grass and started pushing and cursing at other children in order to get their hands on eggs and special prizes.

The event didn’t qualify for the record books, but it did have more eggs than any other egg hunt in the world.

The group apparently did manage to get more eggs than any other egg hunt in the world this Easter, despite missing the record.

The event was hosted by Blue Heart International, a non-profit that helps children rescued from human traffickers.

Thousands of kids turned up Sunday to look for an estimated half-million eggs hidden around the Capitol.
